Apple company is a multinational corporation founded by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Ronald Wayne in California in 1976. The company has the headquarters in Cupertino, California. It was listed at NASDAQ with the ticker AAPL.

Apple’s net worth reached 662.05 billion U.S dollars , according to Forbes’ annual rankings of the world’s most powerful global brands.

Apple was ranked at number 6 on Forbes’ list of America’s Largest Private Companies . It generated almost $18 billion in sales in fiscal year 2016.

Tim Cook is Apple’s chief executive officer since 2011, when he succeeded Steve Jobs who died in 2011 after years of debilitating illness. Also , Arthur D. Levinson serves as chairman of the board and Jony Ive has been appointed chief design officer on October 29, 2015.

Apple company was founded by Jobs, Wozniak, and Wayne on April 1st , 1976 to sell personal computers . The company has sold more than one billion iPhones since 2007 and more than 350 million iPads since 2010, making it the world’s largest vendor of tablet computers .

There are now four versions of the iPhone: the high-end “Plus” version and three lower-priced models with a different screen size. Apple has also introduced the iPad Pro, a larger and more powerful version of its tablet computer that can replace laptops for some users.

On February 23, 2018, Apple had come out with news about their new subscription service called ”Apple News Plus” which will be available starting this Fall for $9.99/ and is said be filled with premium and full-length articles and videos . It will also include exclusive access to original stories, as well as many other features such as notifications when new issues become available.

Apple is involved in a number of charitable activities such as: working with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) to protect the environment, creating an Apple Youth Camp that teaches children how to code, and partnering with (PRODUCT)RED to raise money for AIDS research.

In December 2017 , Apple has donated $390 million dollars worth of products to more than 30 colleges and universities across the United States . The products will be given away through grants from its ConnectED initative’s Commitment Through Action program. This donation aims at helping higher education institutions to bridge the digital divide .

Apple has been honored several times for its business operations and impact on job creation. In 2015, it was ranked number 1 in Fortune’s World Most Admired Companies list. In 2016, Apple was recognized by Forbes as the world’s most valuable brand , ranked top of Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies list, and named one of the ”World’s 25 Greatest Leaders” by Fortune magazine .

On May 2nd , 2018 , Apple won a national security contract from the U.S military to provide mobile devices to soldiers stationed at United States Army bases around the world . This will allow the company access to better opportunities in future government contracts.

In 2012 , Apple became more environmentally-friendly by reducing packaging size for iPhones by 15% without any reduction of product features. By 2016, it had reduced packaging size for its 240 million iPods sold over the years by 55%.

Apple has received criticism from various sources including environmental groups who have claimed that Apple’s preoccupation with profits contributes to hazardous working conditions at Foxconn Technology Group , the Chinese company who manufactures many of Apple’s products.

On February 5th , 2019, Apple were recognized as one of the world’s top employers in an annual survey conducted by LinkedIn . It was ranked second out of more than 10,000 companies surveyed worldwide and first within the technology industry .

Apple is also known for how it treats its employees which are often called “Apple’s Principled People”. According to the company, 92% of its employees are proud to work for Apple and about 50% of them have worked at the company for more than 5 years.

Apple has also been praised through the years by various public figures including Barack Obama , who said that Steve Jobs was “the greatest CEO of our generation”.

The current CEO is Tim Cook. He was named acting chief executive after Jobs’s death in 2011, and this title was made permanent in August 2011. Other members on Apple’s board include Arthur D.
