DIY Christmas Embroidery Hoop Ornament

Embroidery hoop art has gained a lot of popularity in the last few years. This little ornament project is easy to make even if you aren't too familiar with embroidery. All you need to do is a simple split stitch!

DIY Christmas Embroidery Hoop Ornament

What you'll need ~

  • 3" or 4" embroidery hoop
  • acrylic paint and brush
  • felt
  • embroidery thread and needle
  • Christmas bulb buttons
  • ribbon

How to make it ~

1. Start by painting your wooden embroidery hoop and allow to dry. 2. Place white felt in hoop and trim excess felt around edges. 3. Use a split stitch with green thread to make the "string" of lights. 4. Sew on glittery bulb buttons as you go along. 5. Add ribbon at the top of the hoop to hang!

Tip: If you're using 6-strand embroidery thread, split it to use just 3 strands.
