Dog Breed Silhouette Halloween Pumpkin
I am a proud dachshund mom, so I thought it'd be fun to decorate a pumpkin this year with the image of a Halloweenie!
I live in Florida, so carving real pumpkins usually only results in rotten gourds and lots of bugs, so I try to stick to the fake variety. This project is super easy and can be customized to feature a silhouette of your favorite dog (or cat)!

What you'll need ~
- White craft pumpkin
- Silhouette to trace
- Black scrapbook paper
- Scissors
- Mod Podge®
- Foam brush
- Black buttons
- Hot glue gun
How to make it ~
Trace your chosen silhouette onto the black paper and cut it out.
Apply Mod Podge to the back of the silhouette with the foam brush and press it firmly onto the pumpkin. Be sure to squish it down in the ridges of the pumpkin. Brush an additional coat of Mod Podge over the silhouette and allow it to dry.
If you think you want a little more shine on your silhouette, add an extra coat or two.

Once the silhouette is completely dry, heat up your glue gun. Affix buttons in different sizes all over the pumpkin for a cute polka dot effect.
That's it! Ridiculously easy, right? Which dog breed would you proudly display?
PS ~ These craft pumpkins are only meant for display indoors. Also, that little glittery witch hat is something I created for our Fall 2011 issue. If you want to learn how to make that, read the Halloween feature in that issue.
