These parents instill in their children a love of reading and writing and an interest in the environment from an early age. Do and encourage this interest by giving them easy books. Parents should gradually introduce better quality and difficult vocabulary books to the children so that the child can progress. Make it a habit to follow the rules.
Generally, mothers take more interest in their children’s education. If both parents work together to encourage and guide the children, the outcome will be better. Parents should keep in constant contact with their children’s teachers. In order to not only keep in touch about the children’s studies but also find out from the teachers how their child behaves with his teachers and classmates. Parents should keep reminding children that it is their job to try and work hard. If children will try, God will surely help.
However, in my opinion, the child should not be pressured to take a position. Parents should answer the children’s questions according to the children’s understanding. Parents should never make their children compete with each other or with other children. Doing so leaves children behind and demotivates them. It is better to compare each child’s performance with his ability and his reading record.
Apart from school studies, parents should train their children in good manners. Encourage prayer and recitation of the Holy Qur’an and train them to lend a hand in household chores as well.
