We don’t yet have an official release date for Apple’s Series 7 smartwatch, but the release date was recently disclosed in a regulatory filing. We have all the buzz about the new Apple Watch.
In the coming months, Apple Watch 7 may be available. Although we don’t know the exact details, rumours suggest that Apple’s new smartwatch may make an appearance at the next tech giant’s event. This is expected to take place in September alongside the iPhone 13 or AirPods 3. The Apple Watch 7 is already in the news, although a release date has not been set. 9to5Mac later reported the latest gossip from Consomac, a French blog. Consomac reports that Apple has registered its latest smartwatch models with Eurasian Economic Commission (A2474, B2475, B2476, B2477, A2476 and A2477).
Apple’s new watch series could have a sleek, flat-edged design and battery life enhancements. Apple also announced the updated WatchOS 8 software at WWDC in June. If rumours pan out, the new Watch could be a worthwhile upgrade from last year’s Apple Watch Series 6, which Apple unveiled at a virtual event in September 2020. Apple released the Apple Watch SE last year, a mid-range smartwatch that could be a successor in 2022.

Release date: The Apple Watch 7 will likely be available in September
Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted last year that a redesigned Apple Watch could appear in the second half of 2021, so we are pretty sure that a next-gen Apple Watch is coming; we don’t know precisely when. We don’t have much else to report regarding the Apple Watch 7’s release date, but we expect the new wearable to be unveiled at a fall Apple event, likely alongside the rumoured iPhone 13.
Although we believe that the iPhone 13 event would take place on September 8, this is a guess and not based upon rumours or leaks. Our iPhone 13 release date story has more information about our Apple event predictions. If both assumptions are accurate, the Apple Watch 7 will be available on September 8.
We don’t know the official release date. Still, rumours from Consomac in France and 9to5Mac later reporting on it suggest that Apple has already registered its smartwatch with Eurasian Economic Commission under A2473. A2474. A2475. A2476. A2477. A2478.
Apple’s new smartwatch models are usually announced in September, despite rumours. The Apple Watch Series 6 (and Apple Watch SE) were unveiled at an online event on September 15, 2020. This was although the coronavirus pandemic in 2020 made product announcements virtual. It also delayed the unveiling of Apple’s iPhone 12 line by a month. Three days later, they were released on September 18.
Cost: The Apple Watch 7 will likely be priced similarly to the Series 6
Apple’s three previous Watch models were launched at $399. This was to cover the larger size and cellular connectivity. The Apple Watch SE launched at $279, a departure from the traditional $399 price tag. The SE model, Apple’s affordable smartwatch, launched at $279. For reference, here are the Apple Watch Series 6 Launch Prices.
Although we have not heard any credible rumours regarding the price of the Apple Watch 7, Apple would likely keep its current structure and launch the next-gen model at the same $399 price. Apple can raise the price in 2021. However, we don’t expect any significant hardware upgrades or new features to justify a price increase.
